Ippodo, Tea House

This is one of my favourite places.

In 1717 Watababe-san established a tea shop in Kyoto named, at the time, Omya.
After 100 years of producing a really high quality tea, the shop was renamed by Prince Yamashina as Ippodo which means "preserve one".

Until this day, they still carefully select the tea leaves in order to provide the highest quality Japanese green tea.

In this shop, as well as purchasing tea, you can taste several different tea selections and learn how to best prepare your tea.
Or you can just go and enjoy a cup of tea in a beautiful environment that will make you want to return again and again!
